Do all diesel cars have a DPF?
Not every diesel car has a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), and having spoken to many customers over the years with DPF issues, many wish they hadn’t!
Modern diesel cars do come equipped with a DPF to reduce soot emissions, but older models or certain markets may not have one.
If your vehicle was made before 2009, it’s possible it doesn’t have one.
DPFs are mandatory today due to stricter emissions regulations.
They trap soot and require high exhaust temperatures to regenerate efficiently.
This cycle helps keep emissions within legal limits.
