Engine Break In Oil Consumption?

Engine break in oil consumption? Is it normal?
Oil consumption during break-in varies more than most people realize, but here’s what to expect.
Modern engines may show minimal consumption from the start due to improved manufacturing tolerances and secondary plateau honing.
Some consumption up to 1 litre per 1000 miles initially can be normal on aftermarket rebuilds, but it is unusual for factory builds.
Consumption should stabilize within 200-500 miles for most engines rather than traditional 1000+ mile periods. Monitor consumption but don’t panic over initial usage.
Focus on proper driving technique to run in the engine as quickly as possible.
Comment below if your new engine consumes oil.
